yes, my listary has checked. It works with OLD FC well, but with the new fxce, it doesn't work at all.

You are right. Actually, mine is stuck, too. I've got the Listary settings correct, but Listary's search box won't pop up.

I've noticed these things:
1. I can't seem to disable FCXE's own search-as-you-type box - the option should appear in FCXE's Settings under "Quicksearch/filter/starter", but it's not there.
2. Middle-click doesn't bring up the Listary menu unless you have checked "Enable local hot keys..." in the Window Type section of Settings.

Ah, here is how to do it:
In the Listary settings, go to Hotkeys.
Set the hotkey for "Show Listary toolbar". I set mine to alt+w so I could do it with my left hand even my right hand is on the mouse.
Apply.

Now, even in FCXE, that hotkey will bring up the Listary search toolbar, and you can search with it.
The problem however becomes this: after you select the folder with Listary, the focus is not reset to FCXE.
I'll mention this to Mr. Dai, the owner of Listary.

Thanks BGM, it works now!

It would be nice if the builtin search-as-you-type feature could be disabled to eliminate the need of the hotkey ...

however, there's a second issue, when I search a folder in Listary, open the folder this folder is opened properly in FCXE, BUT then ".." (go to parent folder) is not working any more.

best regards,

Martin

Strange, mine was working fine yesterday. But today, listary doesn't work properly, listary no longer shown relative to the active list. Instead, it displays in the center of the screen, and after I type something, it opens the default file manager (set to Explorer). I've set hotkey and FreeCommander XE in By Window Type is already checked. So, whats going on? :?

Edit: Okay, I got it worked after few experiments. It seems Listary doesn't work when FreeCommander is running with Administrator privilege. In this case, Listary also must be running with Admin priv to get it working with FreeCommander running with Admin priv.

Hello, any new about this point?
I see that Listary 5 search-as-you-type function works with FreeCommander but not with FreeCommander XE
Thanks for any suggestion

Hi

I am using Listary 6 (Beta), and it has a direct control to integrate with FC. (Options > Features > Integration >Freecommander).
Once we select that option, the screen only shows two checkboxes, and no further control.
We are supposed to place a tick in them, and that's it.

This option is meant for folders only; not for files.

I want to select a file in the search results of Listary and open its containing folder in FC.
FC should open the containing folder and then place the focus on that file.

The reason is, I know that there are many other files on the same subject in that folder.
So I want to locate a file quickly using Listary, but after that, I want to stop using Listary and use FC to browse that folder.

But if I right-click on a search result in Listary and select the "Open containing folder" option, Windows switches to FC.
But FC does not load that folder.

I guess I haven't set the correct parameter in Listary's settings.

So the question is, what parameter should I user in Listary so that it invokes FC with the selected file's path as parameter?
FC should open the containing folder and then place the focus on that file.

The following Action works for me.
I named it "Open in FC".
It works for files and folders.
You have to change the path to FC for your environment.

Thanks! It works fine.

I also added a hotkey, which makes it even faster.

BTW I copied the parameters as shown in your screenshot (/C "{action_path}")
However, I wonder if there are more parameters that I can use in other contexts.

The help file for FC explains /C as a Command line parameter.
But it does not mention/explain "{action_path}" as a CL parameter.

Probably I am missing out a few powerful ways to use FC.
Could you elaborate where I can find these options?

FC Help, search for command line, to find all options.
The parameter "{action_path}" is part of Listary and inserts the search result into the FC command line.

Integration seems to be broken in Build 889.
Folder paths are no longer passed to Freecommander.

Not confirmed, here it still works fine.

Hmm.. so what might be wrong here at my end?
Configuration hasn't been changed since a while.

Double Strg brings Listary's window as intended in the right lower corner of freecommander.
I can do my search here and press enter to select the desired folder - and then nothing happens.

Could someone maybe give me a hint?

Edit: So now this is disappointing...

Tried it on a fresh freecommander - here it works.
After reimporting my settings into 889 (all portable editions) it is 'broken' again.
What settings may have been altered to prevent passing listary the folderpath to freecommander?

Edit 2: Fixed it using an older freecommander.ini taken from a settings backup.
Though, don't know which setting it was, in fact.
