Hello,
I was using version 2008.06c with no major issues, and then updated the version to 2009.02-donor. This new version has an issue with drag & drop support.
I use Adobe ImageReady 7.0, and with the current version of FreeCommander I am not able to drop a compatible file (*.psd, *.png etc.) into the workspace to open it. After I changed back to version 2008.06, everything was working again.
I am using XP Home SP3. Please let me know if you need any additional info to nail this...

Problem with drag & drop in version 2009.02
Hello Dreamer,
it happens to my only with ImageReady 7.0.1. You see, Photoshop for example, which makes part of the very same software package, works just fine with both versions. But I have no intention to upgrade my Photoshop 7 to something more recent, as the prices are... unhealthy. So, to get my ImageReady 7 working as before, I downgraded FreeCommander and it works again. I can't say what changed between the two FC versions - this is up to the developer - but there is something strange in this last one.
Ah, it happens on two computers: desktop XP Home SP3, notebook XP Professional SP3.

Have you tested the new version with a fresh INI?
Try to move your freeCommander.ini to another place and start FC again without the configuration-file so that FC creates a new INI.
You can also try the Non-Install-Versions like the Zip-Version. Extract to a new folder and start FreeCommander.exe in this folder. A basic configuration-file ist created on start of FC.

Hello,
thank you for the suggestions, I tried them both. I removed the ini file and the application workspace was reset to the default, but it still doesn't let me drop an image file or *.psd into ImageReady. Then I downloaded the portable version and installed it on a Flash drive, with the same result. I wish I could help more, but I noticed this error only in version 2009.02, and only with ImageReady. I am able to drop the very same files into Photoshop or Fireworks.
