Downloaded file being renamed causes pop-up crash error

#1 Post by Forez » 15.01.2024, 16:12

If I am downloading an archive file from a service like https://www.nexusmods.com and during that proces I evoke for it the Rename window of FreeCommander, then after it is finished I always get pop-up error

Apparently FC sees the semi-temp archive file with zero size as a completely different file than the file bearing the same name and having the same access path but possessing different size. Such [not really interrupted] with renaming file during its download does work later on - and yet I get such annoying completely unnecessary interruption about it

And I used term semi-temp, because they really is a temporary file created during download by my webbrowser, which gets automatically deleted after the download finishes. Or maybe it is not deleted but renamed and thus it is replacing that zero size archive - and hence the error?

I am using FreeCommander XE 2023 Build 900 64-bit Donor Portable & Build 880 32-bit Public Installed with Mozilla Firefox on Windows 10 Enterprise 20H2 x64
