$RECYCLE

#1 Post by tigerdlg » 13.08.2023, 20:23

I notice that in my tree panel in Free commander, sometimes there appears a folder called "$RECYCLE." However it is not always there, and it appears to have similar, but not the same content as the regular Recycle Bin, as found below my drives and Network in the tree panel. It does not ever appear in Windows Explorer, so far as I have noticed. Does anyone know what this folder is and why it is there sometimes but no others? Thanks for any help.

To be precise: is the name of that elusive $RECYCLE or $RECYCLE.BIN?

To be precise: $Recycle.Bin (although I could have sworn the "Recycle" was in all caps before). And I did NOT notice the .Bin before. Not like me to overlook something so obvious.

Every volume has a $RECYCLE.BIN folder, which holds deleted items just from it. It is both system and hidden If you delete it it will be recreated once you delete something on that volume
