OneDrive status column with icons

#1 Post by Marek » 07.10.2022, 22:15

FreeCommander build 875

How to add OneDrive status column (64 bit only)

1. Create new column profile with the name e.g. OneDrive
2. Add to the profile new column “OneDrive status”
OneDriveColumn.png
3. Add to the profile Windows column “Availability Status” (it is availability status of the OneDrive item).
4. Save the new profile with OK button
5. For the new profile define the condition as “All subfolders ”
6. As value for the condition define your OneDrive path; example:
C:\Users\xxxxxx\OneDrive; C:\Users\xxxxxx\OneDrive\*
7. Move the new profile to the top of the profile list
8. Save the settings dialog with OK button

If your Windows language is English, German or Polish, you don't need to do anything else. The “OneDrive status” column should be filled with OneDrive icons.
For other languages you need to define the possible “Availability Status” in the file freecommander.onedrive.ini (where to find: http://freecommander.com/en/faq-setting ... s-location). This file will be created automatically if you start and close the release 875 (or higher). Important: first close FreeCommander and then open freecommander.onedrive.ini for editing. Start FreeCommander again after saving the edited file. For your definition you should use the section [StatusText]. Here is an example with English texts:
[StatusText]
1=Available when online
2=Available on this device
3=Keep on this device
4=Excluded
5=Sync Pending
The proper text for your language you must find in the column “Availability Status”. The defined text must be exactly the same, otherwise the icon will be not showed.

Thank you for the above.
I only get the icon on the root folder not in the subfolders. Is that right?
I have the condition set to OneDrive_path

With your condition it is OK.
You should define the condition as described:
C:\Users\xxxxxx\OneDrive; C:\Users\xxxxxx\OneDrive\*
C:\Users\xxxxxx\OneDrive -> main folder
C:\Users\xxxxxx\OneDrive\* -> all subfolders

Re: OneDrive status column with icons - Czech

Here is the Czech language for the status texts:

[StatusText]
1=K dispozici online
2=K dispozici na tomto zařízení
3=Vždy k dispozici na tomto zařízení
4=Vyloučeno (bez synchronizace)
5=Čekající synchronizace

Hi,
I am really impressed about what FreeCommander can do. Column views depending on the directory name: amazing.

However, I did not get the OneDrive icons to work. I am running 887, and I am using a German machine. I did set up the two columns as described and I see the correct status as text. But the icon column (OneDrive status) remains empty. What could this still be? Where do you actually pull the icons from? I removed the overlay icons from the registry to get my TortoiseGit and Nextcloud overlay icons. OneDrive seemed to not need the defined overlay icons, as they are not using them. The icons in the column in Windows explorer come from elsewhere. But maybe Freecommander relys on the registry setting?

Or is it a different issue?

Best regards

EDIT: One addition. It seems that there is no need to add the OneDrive-directory twice in the Condition. A simple

Code: Select all

C:\Users\xxxxxx\OneDrive*
(note the missing trailing \) seems to be enough. I also tested your solution and it does not seem to be related to my issue.

If you want, you could send me your settings, so I could check it.

Currently it works only if the the option "Use Windows colors" is not active.
It is fixed for the next release.

Deactivating the checkbox works for me. Thanks for the fast workaround.

I am happy to confirm that the new version 889 is working with either the checkbox set or not.
Thank you once again for the quick workaround and the quick proper solution.

I cannot seem to get the OneDrive profile to work. I've successfully modified the default view to automatically show thumbnails when I navigate to a folder with I believe 50% or greater images in it. So I must be missing finding my mistake since I've been able to use this feature before. Can someone help me figure out what I've done wrong? The extra columns don't appear at all when I navigate to OneDrive.

I created a profile named OneDrive and put it at the top of the list
I used the "All subfolders" option
I checked the boxes for adding the columns "OneDrive Status" and "Availability Status"
My path when I navigate to OneDrive that displays in the Address Bar is: C:\Users\robne\OneDrive
The condition for my automatic view is: C:\Users\robne\OneDrive;C:\Users\robne\OneDrive\*

My version of software is donor 880 64 bit

My freecommander.onedrive.ini file shows:
[OneDrive]
C:\Users\robne\OneDrive
Plus all the stuff after that...

Any help is appreciated.

Hi,
did you check my problem above? With your version you must uncheck "Use Windows Colors". Or you should upgrade to a version >=889.

It didn't make a difference whether "Use Windows Colors" was checked or unchecked. Thanks for pointing that out though Tusor... I double checked that and made sure I had tried it both wasy.

Could you send me your config files? You can create an archive file with Tools->Backup all settings.
