Classify files according to hour/minute/second creation

#1 Post by mike69290 » 18.12.2023, 11:46

Hello

Another feature request:
Being able to select files and automaticaly sort them into new folders using criterias.

Special need:
After a photo shoot and I need to classify the photos by sequences. A change of scene imposes a delay so FC could detect, for example, a delay higher than 30 seconds between two photos and separate the files into folders.
Of course I can do it manually but a tool would save time and avoid human errors.
No matter the name of the new folders it can be numbers 001, 002, 003... or take the time of the first photo.

Another idea :
a column "Delay since the last item".

Thanks

Partly possible:

Mutli Rename with move to new created folder - FreeCommander Forum

It's possible to move files to subfolders by minutes, if you rename files by EXIF date first:

[exif_taken]

Then try this:

Code: Select all

[n,1,16]\[n]
Files should be moved to subfolders like:
2023-12-18 18-01
2023-12-18 18-02
2023-12-18 18-03

I also do photo sessions and also sometimes have the same need of having to separate batches of photos into different folders, which sets of files are spaced apart in time of their shooting. Being able to define just the number of seconds and a naming scheme for folders and then just executing option on selected files would save me from doing a lot of tedious work
