Try this:

FAQ My settings or/and keyboard shortcuts are not preserved after program restart, how to solve it?

If you're using new donor version and the new FreeCommander Dark color schemes, it's normal, colors can't be changed, you can use other dark or light color schemes.

No thats not the case I think. All my setting are always saved and synced on a google drive fodler. Every time I get the latest settings updated. Everything but the color configuraton for files and fodlers.
Dont know why but that's the only one resetting everytime.

Did you save the color scheme after changing the colors?

[ItemColorsByFileType] is in both, freecommander.ini file and .colors - and if the new "item colors" are added, they are lost after changing the color scheme, not sure if it's OK.

I think I suggested to change it, perhaps just preserve these options in both files, .ini and .colors and even display these 2 different options in the Settings dialog, with the checkboxes, or/and priority, so the custom values added in the .ini file would not be lost and user could choose, if he/she wants to use options from .ini or .colors file, or both and which should have higher priority.

So those options are lost after changing the color scheme, confirmed.

Workaround, don't change the color scheme, or save the color scheme with the added new options - just use a different name, or it will be replaced after the program update.
