Cursor keys in Multirename dialog when Viewer open

#1 Post by m-a-r-k » 11.07.2023, 20:23

Build 891, Windows 11 up-to-date
In FC Details view, viewing images in Viewer. Then select some images to rename.
In Multirename dialog when editing the Filename I can't move the cursor with the keyboard to the left of the "[n]" text in that field. The cursor key seems attached to the Viewer window although the Multirename dialog is on top.
There is no problem when the Viewer window isn't open.

I can not reproduce such problem.
If you can reproduce it, maybe your ini files would help to reproduce it.

Ok Marek, thank you.
I'll try to find time at the weekend to try to home in on what/where the problem is.

And how do you know that?

You just assume that because of presence or lack thereof of the Viewer window? Or do you also get some reaction in it and / or system sounds played?

I'm very busy to go through ini file in detail, but in the little playing I've done this is not consistent.
When it does occur it appears to be linked with the "Link to file list" option in the Viewer.
FC is open in Detail view. I select an image and press F3. The Viewer comes up. I have "Link to file list" option selected.
I then select a range of images to Multirename. When the Multirename dialog appears I place the cursor using my mouse at the end of the "[n]" text in the Filename field.
If I then use my keyboard cursor keys instead of the cursor moving left or right in this field, the file selected in the FC Details list is changed going up or down the list. The keyboard cursor is controlling the file selection in the FC window even though the Multirename dialog is on top.
Now if I turn off "Link to file list" option then the cursor movement in the Multirename dialog field works as expected.
And after that all seems OK and it is hard to repeat the bug. So i'm wondering if the "Link to file list" option being the default setting for me in the Viewer app causes it.
Thanks.
I'll send you my ini file by email if you can't repeat it.
