folders not showing

#1 Post by ydaltak » 04.04.2023, 05:33

when i display the contents of my E drive (windows 10), it shows 20 folders. there are really 23. the 3 that don't show are called videos, mp3s and pictures. interesting.....all media folders. i can access these folders by doing a search. is there some sort of designation that keeps these folder names from displaying?

clicking on "show system items" (not system files, as in the sample) worked. but i don't understand how these three folders are different from the rest. they hold pictures, videos and mp3s. they are not system files.

They are different because they are renamed from the OS depending on the Language.
Windows 11 Home x64 Version 23H2 (OS Build 22631.3296)
Everything Version 1.5.0.1371a (x64), Everything Toolbar 1.3.2, Listary Pro 6.3.0.67
FreeCommander XE 2024 Build 905 64-bit donor

What?

They are not different [i.e. "invisible]" because they have simply the Hidden attribute applied to them?

You don't understand, they are not invisible but their names are changing accroding to the installed OS Language.
Thats the reason for setting them hidden, as there other ways to use them.
In a German OS for example the name of the Pictures folder is Bilder
and there is a link named Bilder which points to the hardcoded hidden Pictures on the disk.
