I can't quick-view pdf files, what could be wrong?

PowerToys will do it.

Lol it's cleverly hidden in the settings. I think the interface can be improved a bit

What is hidden for you ?
Settings and then
open the list for File Explorer add-ons.
I don't see any problem with the UI
