826-824 cant shutdown or close or alt+F4 program. Button lightsup with mouse over but nothing happens when clicked.
File, exit nothinbg happens.
Only way is to crash it down by task manager. Then it records a crashdump.
Windows 10 64bit 2004 and latest updates etc level.
Freecommander Donor installed 64bit version.

tried Freecommander portable version 826 which loads and shutsdown ok. I hope this info helps.

Check the Settings for "Handle closing as minimization".

thanks but no change. Tried all combinations and minimise wont minimise either. close lights up when clicked but nothing happens. Show confirmation on shutdown if set never shows when trying to close.
Very strange. Removed all loaded and running other programs.

Not sure of this is related but opening program it loads and then sits there not opening any previous folders. I have set layouts so then using alt+1 or alt+2 loads the set of folders instantly. Is this a clue?

At least here there is no such problem with the actual FC x64 version 826.
Also this would be reported by many users so I guess there is same strange software on your PC.
Windows 11 Home x64 Version 23H2 (OS Build 22631.3296)
Everything Version 1.5.0.1371a (x64), Everything Toolbar 1.3.2, Listary Pro 6.3.0.67
FreeCommander XE 2024 Build 905 64-bit donor

I have experienced the same with: FreeCommander XE 2020 Build 825 & 826 64-bit donor, on Windows 10 64-bit Version 2004 (OS Build 19041.423)

On every start-up, FreeCommander XE 2020 Build 825 & 826 64-bit donor will open with the top panel collapsed, contents of the active tab are not listed, the program will not close with 'File/Exit', 'Alt+F4', 'X' at top right of the window; must kill the process to close the program.
'Restore Settings' fixes things until the next startup, then all repeats.

However this behavior only appears when the program is started from a shortcut that has "Properties/Shortcut/Run: Maximized". It runs normally when started from a shortcut that has "Properties/Shortcut/Run: Normal window"

I hope this information is helpful.

Can this be fixed?
