If you set auto-selectable views in:
Settings -> Column profiles/Automatic views -> Auto selectable views
When you use Favorites, the view is not automatically selected.

Can confirm
If I click a folder in my favourites that has an automatic view set it doesn't apply.
If I'm in a folder with an automatic view active (such as pictures thumbnail view) and click another folder in my favourites which has (or doesn't have, default should apply) an automatic view set it stays in thumbnail view.
I can add a screen-capture video if needed.
