Config options and actions to resize navigation panel against directory content

#1 Post by kino » 04.09.2019, 12:01

Hello,

Some useful buttons exist to allocate 0, 25, 50 ou 100% of the window to each panel in dual-pane mode.

None seem to exist however to proportionate each navigation pane against its corresponding file pane (?)

(Both) my navigation panes tend to take too much space in the window (thus hiding more valuable dir content information)

I'd like to be able to set :

- default size for each pane (either absolute points or relative %)
- action buttons to punctually alter this when needed

Thanks

You can currently change the value for the action "Set active panel to 25%".
Add the line:
SplitterSwitchSmall=33
to the [Form] section of the freecommander.ini file.
The action changes to "Set active panel to 33%".

Hi Marek,

Thanks for your quick answer (informative btw)

I've made myself unclear :

- the feature I'm talking about is not between active and passive panels

- about the same idea but between tree navigator of each pane and its corresponding directory list/content

When I resize FC window, the treelist tends to take over (which could be fine to certain users but one is usually focused on content)
I think it could be useful to provide similar functionality applied to navigator vs. content (for both panes or selectively for active vs. inactive pane)

Thx

Have you tried to deactivate the option "Auto resize for main splitter changes"?
If this option is not active, the tree does not change the size.

FC is so flexible that sometimes you forget about the good'ol options :-)
Thanks
(at some point, you may want to implement some of those advanced settings though)
