FTP problems with TLS

#1 Post by Alecos » 14.01.2016, 17:34

Hello, I have just downloaded the 64bit version 709. I noted that if I select TLS (from radio selects) FC returns automatically to SSL 3.0. It doesn't accept TLS. I want use TLS to encrypt my connection for my server. Basic FTP without TLS works but isn't good for me. FC accepts only SSL 3.0 and SSL 2.0...

I need to use Implicit TLS.

Also I noted that FC doesn't preserve timestamp when upload to my server, FileZilla and WinSCP work great with this feature. I'd like to have this implemented on FC.

Thanks.

Yes, you are right, even after setting mode to Implicit - TLS and Ok button, FC returns automatically to SSL 3.0.

FTP has no function for changing of the timestamp on server. Some server have extensions which implement this function (MDTM). Unfortunatelly I have no server for testing of the MDTM extension.

I said... when I do some uploads, the timestamp of local files are not preserved with FC, so I mean that if I have a file with this timestamp 2016-01-01 23:20:14 on server becomes 2016-15-01 09:18:23.

I'd like to have on local 2016-01-01 23:20:14 and on remote server 2016-01-01 23:20:14, the same timestamp. Filezilla preserve timestamp of uploaded files, so when I upload some files I see the same timestamp of files that I have on localhost...

On 2009 when you written the previous version of frecommander (not XE) this feature was implemented if I have right!

Anyway I think that TLS and timestamp preserved are essential today for working with serious servers.

Thanks Marek.

Kind regards.

Hi! I downloaded the latest version donors 711 and I set ftp over TLS Implicit but FC refuses to connect giving this error:

The token supplied to the function is invalid

But the user and the pass are correct. Just to validate this I tried to connect without any protection... Mode: none (no TLS, no SSL). Without encrypting connection I can connect FTP but if I try to back to TLS FC still refuses to connect.

With WinSCP and FileZilla with Implicit TLS the connection is as expected... goes, it connects without problems. The problem is only for FC.

It's all.

Kind regards.

For Implicit TLS is port important. Check the port you use in FileZilla and try to use the same in FC.
Have you tried TLS with 'Automatic' mode?

I have just tried with:

Port: 990
Mode: Implicit TLS
Use Secure Channel

And works great!!!

Thank you Marek!!!

Now it's time for implementing "preserve timestamp when download/upload files"

Great Job! Marek!!!
