Seletion using shift in thumbnail view doesn't work

#1 Post by omerfree » 09.02.2008, 21:04

Use detailed or list view and select files with shift - works fine. Switch to thumbnail view and do the same - it won't work; you can only use ctrl for selection with thumbnail view.

Confirmed! Enable these options to reproduce:

- Select files in NC-Mode
- Extended selection with Shift and Ctrl

Another bug in list view:

- select few files via Shift+Down
- now press Shift+Right few times
- go back, press Left few times
= one file in the middle is not selected, in each column!

Another bug... I'll start the new topic fir this one.

In FC ...317, but also in v2007.10a, Windows XP SP2.

Still not fixed in R337.

Also selecting using Space is wrong - focus is changed to file below instead to the next file.

I can totally hear your pain, this is still not fixed in newest beta build 375.
Making thumbnail mode work correctly so we can use it would bring fc closer to awesomeness, this was my favorite and most used feature in tc, which I was using before. I'm also using arrow keys Left and Right to navigate up and down between folders (originally backspace and enter combination) so you can imagine how messy thumbnail mode is working for me.

It really is missing. The entire mechanism is not working well.

Re: Selecting files with Shift+Home/End in thumbnail view

I tried to create a new topic but changed my mind and post a reply here because it is a trouble of selecting in Thumbnail view as well.

I also have a problem of selecting files (folders) with Shift+Home/End key in Thumbnail view. Shift+Home/End works fine in the Details view (I don't use the List view so don't know about it) but in Thumbnail view it just select all in the panel.

Hi. just like you, I either used Left and Right keys to navigate forders and zipped files in TC and was no problem in Thumbnail view to move the focus and go into/up with Enter and Backspace and that was super convenient. What I guess is each hot key has its own hierachy or stack so the hot keys work naturally in easy expectations of users independently to each view mode.

The topic was for the version before 2009 and is valid for 2009.
The developing of the 2009 is stopped already long time.
You should try the XE version.
