File icons flicker when set to Extract

#1 Post by bradyjwau » 16.04.2014, 12:17

Some file icons (exe, url) were flickering every 3 seconds or so (though times varied slightly) when set to Extract icon.
Noticed in 64 bit donor, found also in standard donor version.
Change setting to registered icons, flickering stopped.
Tested with default settings and without plugins, still occurred. Then after a little while flickering stopped.
Realised it was due to multiple files downloading into same folder, as soon as finished, flickering stopped. Tested with single file download, occurred but less frequently.
Windows 7 Pro 64bit

Try deactivating this option:

I had the same issue with my mapped O: drive.
The suggested solution didn't work for me.

In the end I had to go to Settings / View / File folder list / Refresh.
I added my problematic O: drive in the refresh ignored drives.
I put "o" under "Ignore these drives for auto refresh".

Me again.

Actually I found a better solution to my problem.
I mapped my O: drive manually via the Explorer and using path "\\localhost\c$\test" to map it to "c:\test".
Instead of that, I dismounted it and mounted it using the command "subst o: c:\temp".
Now the icons don't flicker anymore even with auto-refresh enabled.
Moreover the actions I do on the O: drive are faster. Hope this helps!
