7Zip plugin as default archive program

#1 Post by RuCla » 13.11.2007, 09:13

Hello,
I think it would be a nice feature if I could select my prefered archive program (7Zip) to pack and unpack archives with freeCommander. I think there is no possibility for this, am I wrong?
Best regards
Rudi

WCX plugins support

I happen to come across an open source program called "Double Commander". It is written in Lazarus(Freepascal) and it has WCX packer plugins/WFX plugins support. maybe the code there is helpful to speed up the implementation.

It would be nice to be able to select packer. I would like to be able to use rar by default (will mean you need a rar license), but it works in TotalCommander.

I don't see any comment on this.
It's possible and already done as in Double Commander.

But is it planned ?

Should be top priority as FC is created as a free replacement for TC.
Other types of plugins (WFX more than WDX) would be also handy but WCX is IMHO critical.

+1 here too, a plugin for 7zip is already available in wcx, maybe someone could recode it to wlx? so we can see the contents in quickview or extract it.

+1 WFX, imho more important than WCX.

ext2fs, wincefs, procfs :)) mmm

Compressor tools it's ok-ish to use external ones, especially since 7z opens anything and can drag-and-drop or cmdline do commands. But filesystems are a different issue...
