Structurless views icons do not toggle [FIXED IN 726]

#1 Post by Underdog » 18.06.2016, 23:57

The structurless views icons (aka, Plain view - files/folders/files, folders) lose their toggle function when placed in the address bar or in the splitter.

STR:
  1. Add any of the Plain view icons to the address bar
  2. In structured view, click on the Plain view... icon > view changes as expected and icon is highlighted = OK!
  3. Click on the same Plain view... icon > view does not switch back to structured view and icon remains highlighted = BUG
  4. Repeat the above steps using the icons in the Standard bar > view and icon highlight toggle as expected

Notes:
  • Toggle function and icon-highlighting is available in the Standard bar.
  • Toggling with shortcut keys for the Plain view... still works in any case.
  • The toggle-sensitive highlighting of Plain view... icons does not respond to shortcut keys toggling when switching back to structured view.
  • The toggle-sensitive highlighting of Plain view... icons is not the same as those in the Standard bar when using the latter to switch back to structured view. That is, the icon in the Standard bar is not longer highlighted, while its twin in the address bar or in the splitter remains highlighted.

FC 706 is one old version.
Maybe you should try the current.
Anyway it works fine in the last 724 donor release.

My apologies: my signature was not up-to-date.

I've tested with 724: it does not work. Nor does it work for a colleague of mine.
Demonstration of effect.
Demonstration of effect.
I just tested with FreeCommander XE 2016 Build 715 32-bit public and this is clearly an ancient bug that has remained in hiding for generations.

In both builds, as mentioned before, once the icons are highlighted in the address bar, they do not respond to additional mouse clicks.
