Auto-resize strange behavior
Auto-resize strange behavior
Actually not a bug, it's rather an annoyng behavior.
I have two panels open, some files are listed and the auto-resize works properly (The "Name" columns resize according to the file name).
In case the name of the file is one among the following (without longer filenames in the same directory), the autoresize doesn't work, and a manual column resize is required.
WinScP.com
WinScp.com
WinsCp.com
WinsCP.com
WinSCP.com
Strange to believe, but I have tested different PC, Version (Donor 673-675-680), architecture (32-64).
Of course we can pursue to sleep quietly and use this excellent product. Just for information.

Re: Auto-resize strange behavior
Yes, you're right. I can replicate it by creating those 2 files.
This must be the funniest bug I ever encountered in FC. Have no idea why it happens.

Re: Auto-resize strange behavior
NOT confirmed in FC XE 680 (List view and NC mode is used).
@francoma
What version of FC XE are you using?
Steps you provided could not reproduce problem in my configuration. Please describe it with more details.

Re: Auto-resize strange behavior
Version 680 donor Windows XP sp3
FreeCommander listing in Program Files on the hard drive is auto-resized. The sub-directory listing on a USB thumb drive is shortened to FreeComma... Does auto-resizing have to be set separately for USB drives?

Re: Auto-resize strange behavior
Fixed in 681. Thanks!
Re: Auto-resize strange behavior
Very good, but I'm afraid the version 681 correct the problem of this post, but introduce a new bug.
This is what I get connecting to the same PC, root directory, in my local network, from different nodes:
Connecting to "Paulina-pc" from WindowsXp-FreecommanderXE(Build 681)
Connecting to "Paulina-pc" from Windows7-FreecommanderXE(Build 681 x64)
So, in x32 version some folders are omitted, in x64 version the autoresize of folder name doesn't work properly.
Checked previous versions this problem didn't occour.
Thanks
