How exactly do you paste it?

In FC XE there is a known issue with the toolbar buttons, e.g. paste button doesn't work when renaming a file, also copy button doesn't work that way.

Example:
- go to file A
- press F2
- press COPY toolbar button
= filename is NOT copied to clipboard
- use context menu to copy filename instead
- press Enter
- go to file B
- press PASTE button
= filename is NOT changed from clipboard

I have reported this one long ago...

As I see, even Ctrl+V doesn't work sometime, but I can't reproduce it.

As I suspected, mr confirms my theory.

As I remembered, Windows clipboard has a format parameter that you can play via programming languages. That was long time ago. It seems in this case, FCXE needs to check / select the appropriate format before pasting it into the field.

Can someone with Visual Studio Express write a small program to demonstrate this theory?

I have solved this issue on my computer. Webroot was 'protecting' my clipboard.
Sorry for the hassle

OK, so it's not a bug, right?

Thanks, mr! This has being haunting me a while. I appreciate you sharing the information.

To unlock it in WebRoot, go to your web root scanner console by right click on the tray icon, select "View Status."
When the console appears, select "Identity Protection" (directly under PC Security), click on the wheel (wrench) on the right to open it's configuration page. On the 2nd tab (Application Protection), that's where it blocks Free Commander and other programs it does not recognized. Those being blocked has the "Deny" column checked.

You can select either Allow or Protect for Free Commander and other programs you recognized but not working.
