Unicode files - FC lng files for example, are not displayed correctly in the viewer. I'm not sur eif it's a bug, or just not implemented yet, but I couldn't find anything...
Example of the text displaying in the viewer in text and unicode mode:

594 - Unicode text in viewer
Re: 594 - Unicode text in viewer
The lng files are not Unicode files but UTF8 files. For UTF8 you should use "RTF/UTF8" option in viewer.
Re: 594 - Unicode text in viewer
I tried all options in viewer, also "RTF/UTF8", but the result is the same...
"[Text]
1=fc_ShortCuts_en.htm
2=licence_eng.rtf
2001=OK
2002=Zrušiť
2003=PouĹľiĹĄ
2004=SpustiĹĄ
2005=Nájsť
3000=PrieÄŤinok - vÄľavo
3001=PrieÄŤinok - vpravo
3002=PrieÄŤinok - aktĂvny
3003=PrieÄŤinok - neaktĂvny"
BTW it's correct in other text viewers and editors, even without changing any option and it's OK also in old FC with option "RTF/UTF8".
Edit: So some languages are OK with option "RTF/UTF8", but...
Slovak.lng - result is above
Bulgarian.lng - result is the empty viewer, no characters

Re: 594 - Unicode text in viewer
I think, the files are not correctly saved.
Open slovak.lng with some text editor and call "Save as..." with the option Encoding UTF8.
Correctly saved files starts as follow (you cann see it in viewer):
[Text]
1=fc_ShortCuts_en.htm
2=licence_eng.rtf

Re: 594 - Unicode text in viewer
I did it again, in PSPad, UTF-8, save, still the same. I think the files are saved correctly.
BTW all broken lng files are displayed correctly in old FC, notepad, PSPad, but they are broken in OpenOffice, Wordpad and FC XE, strange.

Re: 594 - Unicode text in viewer
What I wrote in this post wasn't correct, so I deleted all.
I apologize for my mistake.
I apologize for my mistake.
Re: 594 - Unicode text in viewer
Please try it again in the release 596, I have made some changes for auto detect text files.
Re: 594 - Unicode text in viewer
Great work, fixed in 596, thank you, Marek!
Closed.
Edit: So Bulgarian.lng and Russian.lng are still empty, not sure if it's a bug, Serbian.lng is OK, strange.
