840 - Minor - VeraCrypt drive rename case only issue

#1 Post by Dreamer » 09.01.2021, 18:37

in veracrypt drive renaming file or folder just changing the case does not work, e.g. "abc" can't be renamed to "Abc"

To reproduce:
- go to VeraCrypt drive, or similar (VeraCrypt is free)
- create new text file "test.txt"
- press F2 to rename it
- change case for any letter, e.g. rename it to "Test.txt"
- press Enter
= file is not renamed

It works good in standard drives.

Workaround - first add any letter, rename it and then remove additional letter, e.g. "aTest", then "Test".

FC 840 64-bit donor, Windows 10 20H2 64-bit.

It's the same.

Anyway, I think there was the same issue in FC for any path/disk and it was fixed. If this can't be fixed, it's not a problem.

BTW If you want to test it, you don't have to encrypt whole drive, you can create just small virtual drive, as a 100MB file for example and then mount it.

It is not FC problem
That might depend on how the VeraCrypt container is formatted.
Please check the post in the VeraCrypt forum.

OK, thanks, so it's not a FC bug.
