FIXED IN 813 BETA - 812 - Adding seperater in favourite toolbar messes existing order

#1 Post by stephen147 » 23.01.2020, 13:21

If I move items around and then add a separator, then the order is reverted to the old order.

The same happens if I add a separator after deleting an existing item.

Confirmed, but I'm not sure if it's a real bug.

Perhaps a solution could be to add numbers to separators, if needed, but hide them in GUI.

Thanks for taking the time to make those great screen recording gifs.

I experienced the same issue, but I didn't have the time to properly describe and document it.

I think it is a real bug, because the order of the menuitems changes.

I actually like seeing the separator numbers in the configuration UI because it provides greater insight into how FCXE is internally interpreting what the user is doing. It makes diagnosing this sort of thing easier. It also might make it a nanosecond faster to display the menu if the separators are in order... okay, that's my wild theory for the year, and I'm sticking to it!

Yes, it most certainly is a bug. 🐛

ShareX and ScreenToGif are your friends when it comes to gif recording and editing. Both portable and the best I've yet to try.

Great... thank you for those recommendations. I knew about ShareX, but I didn't realize it was open-source. Time to take a look at it.
And I didn't know about ScreenToGif. Nice find. I'll look at that too.

Thanks again!
