It's a minor issue, probably not a bug, but the behavior for these actions should be the same...
- to go [..] root item in folder with some files
- press F2 or click the Rename button
= Multi rename dialog is opened (correct)
- to go [..] root item in folder with some files
- press Ctrl+M or click the Multi rename button
= Multi rename dialog is NOT opened
801 - Minor issue when using Multi rename button/hotkey
Re: 801 - Minor issue when using Multi rename button/hotkey
It's changed in 802, but it's vice versa now, I think it should work the same with both shortcuts.
Go to root (Home) and F2 was quite useful, now it doesn't work, I don't use Ctrl+M.

Re: 801 - Minor issue when using Multi rename button/hotkey
the "correct" expected behavior is probably as in windows explorer:
F2: when single file selected -> rename single file
F2: with multiple selections -> multi rename
ctrl+m is a duplicate of the latter and therefore dispensable.
so I assume everything is OK now, beside this bug:
after checking "Show parent folder ".." " then unchecking it,
multi rename does not longer work correctly:
-> the dialog opens, but none of the selected files appear
