673 - F6 moves folder to desktop without such request

#1 Post by Timon » 07.10.2014, 20:30

FC XE 673 on Windows XP SP3
"NC Mode" is used
"Use FreeCommander" for copy/move/delete operations is used

Open Local disk C: in both active and inactive panels. Highlight (move cursor to) any folder on local disk C:, for example, folder named 123 (C:\123). Press F6. You'll see Move dialog. Instead of Target C:\*.* write any desired name, for example, 234 (all the rest leave default). Press Enter (Run). You'll see that something occured, but nothing was changed. You still see folder C:\123 at its place.

In other file managers in such a case (when we simply enter new name without path in move/rename dialog) folder would be renamed, but not in FC XE. In FC XE we can find folder 234 on Desktop!!!

Confirmed, 673, Win Vista 32 bit.

Another one, very strange:

"NC Mode" is used
"Use FreeCommander" for copy/move/delete operations is used

- use C: path for both panels
- create folder 123 on the left panel
- use auto minimize option for copy/move F5/F6
- now focus the folder 123 on the left panel
- press F6
= folder 123 is lost!?

OK, the same result when using F6 with dialog and press F6+Enter.

Edit: So when moving any empty folder to the same path on the other panel, on any drive, result is that folder is lost, probably deleted, completely, not to recycle bin.

In 674, original issue is different, but the folder is not renamed, instead, the original folder is moved to new folder "234" for example, I'm not sure if this is correct.

Another issue, I reported, looks fixed, operation is impossible, folder is not deleted, fixed in 674.
