dos box in unc path folder

#1 Post by jim » 30.01.2014, 00:33

The dos box opens in the correct folder when the folder is a mapped drive with a letter, but not when the folder is a unc path: ie; \\server\share. When I open a dox box in a unc folder, the local directory is c:\winnt or c:\windows. Is it possible to make the dos box open in the unc path folder?

There is some registry entry to allow UNC patch as working dir.
You have to search gogle for it.

Everything Version 1.5.0.1371a (x64), Everything Toolbar 1.3.2, Listary Pro 6.3.0.67

I know about that registry setting and have used it for years.

User Key: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Command Processor]
Value Name: DisableUNCCheck
Data Type: REG_DWORD (DWORD Value)
Value Data: (0 = default, 1 = allow UNC)

Even with it set, FreeCommander still doesn't open a cmd window in any UNC location, only in the c:\windows on the local computer. xyplorer can do it just fine. How do I engage the developer of FreeCommander to respond to this issue?
