594 - 'Select same in other panel' doesn't work ?

Problem:
'Select same in other panel' doesn't work.

I searched this forum and found only 1 post reported about this problem.

How to reproduce:
1. Open the same folder in active panel and inactive panel.
2. Select all folders and files in active panel.
3. Choose 'Edit -> Select same in other panel'.

Result:
In inactive panel, all folders and no files (or few files) are selected.

Expected result:
In inactive panel, all folders and all files are selected, because it is the same folder.

Ok, I found someting.

TEST1:
Active panel:
test.txt

Inactive panel:
test.txt
test.txt.bak

Result: No file will be selected.

TEST2:
Active panel:
test.txt
test.txt.bak

Inactive panel
test.txt

Result: test.txt will be selected.

Maybe, comparison was done between file name and file title. (Bold part)
This explains why all folders are selected but files.

Could you explain more exactly, what is your problem? For me "Select same in other panel" works properly.

Well, I found the reason.

Problem:
If 'Show extension in "Name" column' option is OFF and view mode is 'details view', 'Select same in other panel' doesn't work.

Try to test, please.
1. If you don't have default column profiles, make a new one first.
2. Open your default column profile definition.
3. Check off 'Show extension in "Name" column' option.
4. Click 'OK'.
5. Open the same folder in both active panel and inactive panel.
6. Set both view to 'details view'.
7. Select all files and folders in active panel.
8. Choose 'Edit -> Select same in other panel'.

Result:
In inactive panel, all folders and no files (or few files) are selected.

In this case, as I described previous post, FC XE will compare file title (without extension) of selected items and file name (with extension) of items in inactive panel.



So, walkaround is setting this option ON, or not to use 'details view' mode.
