594 - 'Folder history per tab' and empty history problem

#1 Post by etc. » 14.06.2012, 09:14

FC XE 594, Windows XP sp3

Sorry for my english, I hope you can understand what I mean.

Problem:
If I checked 'Folder history per tab' option ON, tab with empty history will inherit the history of active tab of the same pane.

I don't know this behavior is designed or not, but it will produce some unwanted result.

Example 1:
Assume there are 3 tabs in active pane. (tab1, tab2, tab3)
1. Check 'Folder history per tab' option ON.
2. Activate tab1 and click address bar and select 'Clear history'.
3. Click address bar. (result: Popup window doesn't show.)
4. Click to activate tab3.
5. Click to activate tab1 again and click addres bar.
Result: Now, tab1 inherits the history of tab3.

Example 2:
Assume there are 3 tabs in active pane. (tab1, tab2, tab3)
1. Check 'Folder history per tab' option ON.
2. Check 'Delete history entries on close' option ON.
3. Click to activate tab1 and exit FC XE.
4. Restart FC XE.
5. Press 'Ctrl+Tab' 3 times.
Result:
tab2 inherits the history of tab1.
tab3 inherits the history of tab2.

Example 3:
Assume there are 2 tabs in active pane (tab1, tab2), and 1 tab in inactive pane (tab3).
1. Click to activate tab1.
2. Click middle mouse button on '..' item (parent folder).
Result: New tab will open in active pane which inherit the history of tab1.
3. Click to activate tab1 again.
4. Hold 'Ctrl' key and click middle mouse button on '..' item (parent folder).
Result: New tab will open in inactive pane which inherit the history of tab3.

----
In each case, result is not what I wanted.

I think new tab should not inherit the history of active tab, when 'Folder history per tab' option is ON.

Plus I think 'Clear history' should not remove all of history. At least it should remain current folder as history, when 'Folder history per tab' option is ON.

Because in this case below, inherit problem doesn't occur.

Example 4:
Assume there are 3 tabs in active pane. (tab1, tab2, tab3)
1. Check 'Folder history per tab' option ON.
2. Activate tab1 and click address bar and select 'Clear history'.
3. Click address bar. (result: Popup window doesn't show.)
4. Doubleclick '..' item to navigate to parent folder.
5. Click to activate tab3.
6. Click to activate tab1 again and click addres bar.
Result: Now, tab1 has only history of current folder. (But I think it should have history of the previous folder too.)

Thank you for reading. :)
