829 - Tree and Quick View panes shrinking

#1 Post by RoseMcK » 23.09.2020, 23:19

Just updated to 829 today, but this issue occurred in 828 also. Began the day before yesterday.
Since I've never seen this behavior before I thought it wise to update before reporting.
I use dual pane horizontal view, with Tree pane and Quick View panel open all the time. Now every time I open or minimize FC, both panels shrink to the sides of the screen.
No new hard or software, no system changes.

Windows 10 Home 64-bit 1903, Build 18362.657

I can not reproduce the problem.
Could you send me your config files?

I get something similar to this, and have done for several versions.
I only open the viewer pane when required, but have 2 panes each showing the tree.
When opening FC, very often, not all the time, both tree panels will minimise so they're unreadable.

Also, when opening, if the tree is looking at nested folders and the selected folder path doesn't fit in the width of the pane, then the slider at the bottom of the pane will slide to the name of that folder, so that I can't see the actual tree or even the folders above the one selected. This may have been intentional, but to me it's an annoyance as I have to move the slider to see the tree before I can navigate anywhere. Bear in mind, if I'm interested in the last used folder, I can still use it/see the folder contents regardless of what part of the tree is showing. However, if I'm not interested in that folder, I can't navigate anywhere else without moving the slider so I can see the tree.

I've just updated to V830 from v828 and each update I hope these issues have gone. I came here today looking for an answer to both these issues.

I'm a long time user, became a donor in 2018 after using it for years, inc the previous version, and historically never had either of these problems. I would say the panes mimising completely is the newer of the two but is still several versions old. There isn't anyway I can see to attach a screenshot and it's probbaly easier to understand a picture than my description.

@kens
Have you the issue in the release 830 too?
If yes, you can send me screenshots and your settings per email.

Please try to deactivate the option "Make selected node automatically visible".

Thanks Marek, that seems to have solved the tree visibility problem.
