I usually work with files, which have a much longer file name than the (default) space available in the "Name" column of the details view. Despite my manual adjustments of the column width, together with trying various values (plus/minus) in the "Max column width" of the settings, the adjusted column width never remains in place when switching to another folder or when closing FreeCommander.
So I "simply" want to have a possibility to "freeze" the adjusted column width within FreeCommander - how is this possible?
[613] Fixing the size of columns
Re: [613] Fixing the size of columns
- Set "Max width (0: no limit)" to some value, e.g. 50.
- Deactivate the option "Autosize for 'Name' column"
- Deactivate the option "Autosize for 'Name' column"
Re: [613] Fixing the size of columns
Many thanks - now it works as desired.
(It took me quite some time though until I found the recommended setting within the "universe" of additional settings in "Customs columns", which I had not been aware of.)

Re: [613] Fixing the size of columns
Hi!
In XE 629 i can't manage to set the column-width to a fixed value.
Even if I remove the marker in "Breite der Spalte "Name" automatisch anpassen the width of the column varies from column to column.
I think I forgot a detail to achieve a fixed column-width!?
