example: -.pdf / -*.pdf or NOT .pdf / *.pdf (- means not)
displays all files which are not in *.pdf format.
this is very useful when somebody wants to exclude not many files in a particular format to delete all abundant other files.
eg. I have 2 important file types with ending *.xid and *.idf, show and delete all other files except not those files.

Re: Feature request:quick filter, exclude files
you may already know, such things is implemented already via filters. go to
Menu Folder/Filter/Set Filter
Menu Folder/Filter/Set Filter
Win7x64
Re: Feature request:quick filter, exclude files
hmmm Menu/set filter... Define/Exclude (files) does not work.
I would like to excude *.xyz, when applying the defined filter, it does not exclude those files. XE 600
using the string "-" or another string to exclude files in the quick filter would be great.

Re: Feature request:quick filter, exclude files
aha exclude *.xyz and .xyz does not work when regular expression is not checked. If regular expression is checked, then it works.
But it should actually work without regular expression, the same for include should work for exclude and vice versa.
hmm -.xyz or -*.xyz in the quick filter would be easier.

Re: Feature request:quick filter, exclude files
It is not true.aha exclude *.xyz and .xyz does not work when regular expression is not checked.
I use the following exclude filter without regular expression
*.exe;*.dll;*.dcu;*.~*~
Re: Feature request:quick filter, exclude files
this is my mistake. this is very very minor, in quick filter .xyz and *.xyz works in define filter only *.xyz works.
because i used .xyz in the quick filter it was my mistake to assume that in define filter .xyz works too. Bit irritating.
