[Solved] SSH SFTP problems

#1 Post by kleffx » 17.10.2020, 10:30

Good morning,
I have problems to get SSH working, since provider strato has changed from FTP to SSH recently.
Tried serveral things:
- changed server adress to ssh.strato.de (as infromed by provider)
- deactivated interim virus and firrewall
-> no success
filezilla works w/o probs!
I took the actual donor portable fc under Win10 Pro version 2004.
Any hints or help? Thank you.

If you have the possibility to create test access to the server for me, I could try to check it.

With the release 831 I had no problem to connect a Strato server.

I haven't used FCXE for FTP.

But in passing, I recommend WINSCP. I use it to connect to a family FTP site which uses SSH. Works perfectly, and is intuitive and capable. Allows file transfers to run in foreground or background (queued).

Problem solved:
I tried to edit existing FTP-accounts to SSH. This does not work.
You have have to create new SFTP-accounts and then put your account details in. This will work w/o problems.
Simple, if you know this tiny detail...
