thumbnails view: number of lines for file names

#1 Post by haukebasse » 25.05.2020, 20:37

Hello

I mostly use the thumbnails view for organizing photos.
Often, the filesnames are not completely displayed, because they are longer than two rows.
I would like to view the whole file name, even when long, in thumbnails view, for all files in the pane.
I could not find an option to set the number of rows for the file name.
Is it possible to change the setting such that I can see the complete file name for all files?

(They full name "flies out" (downwards) when selecting the file, but I'd like to see the name of all files immediately, without selecting a specific file.)

Kind regards, Hauke

Thank you, Marek, for the very quick reply!
I found that the setting is effective, but needs to be combined with the right setting "Spacing" (Abstand).
There needs to be enough Y-Spacing so that the names are not "covered" by succeeding thumbnail rows.
I set it to a value that suffices for most of my images (image name lengths).
An "auto spacing" would be perfect for this requirement, of course, but this solution should be good enough.
Thanks for all!
Hauke
