Add My Computer, My Documents and MyData to Drive Selection

I would like to add to Bearded Kirklander request of "Ability to GO UP One Additional Level In File Panes". I 100% agree.

In addition, I would like to be able to select 'My Computer', 'My Documents' and 'My Data' in addition to the drives. When attached to many network drives the 'My Computer' view is needed. As an XP user, all of my work files are under 'My Documents' and 'MyData'.

thanks

C:\Document and Settings\User Name\My Documents\
C:\Document and Settings\User Name\My Documents\My Music\
C:\Document and Settings\User Name\My Documents\My Pictures\
C:\Document and Settings\User Name\My Documents\My Videos\

Just open the individual folders into tabs & lock them.

I agree with Ipkay

My Computer would have to be one of the most glaring things missing from FC.

I Love this app to bits and use it everywhere but I rely miss My Computer.

I'd like to add my support for this too. A glaring omission IMHO.

Add the Desktop folder and you have THE killer Windows Explorer replacement.

You have direct acces to the desktop folder in the "folders 2" toolbar

Thanks for that wkrekik.....should have looked further than I obviously did!

BTW has anyone tried Q-Dir? I have been using both and like both a lot. Only thing with Q-Dir is that it does not have tabs at the moment which I would really like to see. However it does have color coding in folder listings which has defaults set but these can be changed and new ones added for different file types. I find this very useful in quickly identifying files in a folder without having to click the type tab to sort by file type.

I have tried QDir. A very good software, with a nice quadro view, but lot of FC smart features are missing ...

FC doesn't have default set for colour coding, but you can customize colours of different file types in settings>colours and the result is the same

Thanks again wkrekik. Can I trouble you for two more quick questions?

1. How do I get additional file information column headings such as Date Created etc?

2. Do you have a workaround to get a My Computer view?

Thanks.

Setings>custom columns (more details here)

I don't have a workaround to get a true My Computer view, but you can get quick access to all the My computers folders and drives on your FC toolbars by several ways.

1. Display My documents icon on "folders 1" toolbar.
2. Clic on "system directories" icon in the "folders2" toolbar: Desktop, My images, Shared documents, etc. will appear.
3. Settings>Drives : show network as drive
4. You can display any folder of your choice in the "favorites tols" toolbar. It's not obvious so read my intervention in this post
