Default action fails for folder with diacritics

#1 Post by afh » 17.09.2016, 14:58

I checked versions 727 and 728 (but this might have been the case for previous verions).

When a default action application is set in FC for a certain extension (e.g. *.jgp) and the active folder has diacritics in its name, pressing ENTER will trigger an error message.

On the other hand, for the same extension (e.g. *.jpg) and the same folder, editor (F4) and view(F3) work just fine.

All these 3 options are available in Settings -> Programs -> (editors | viewers | default action)

Could you give us some examples of the folder names that makes the problem?

In my case, it's about romanian diacritics.

Works fine with folder "beţivelă" on Windows 8.1 (FC 32 and 64 bit 716+).

Indeed, there is a problem with the apps I use for opening my images (but I can't figure out what's wrong).
Thanks!

Which program for images are you using? Perhaps it doesn't support unicode and you need to set the default language for non-unicode programs, or switch to program with unicode support.
