PROBLEM: Item list Icons do not follow Item list Names upon change of sort type.
Prog Version(s)
FreeCommander XE 2016 Build 716 64-bit donor
-- and also -- tried this next one too --
FreeCommander XE 2016 Build 723 64-bit donor
OS: Windows 7 SP1 64-bit
To Duplicate this bug:
1. Start prog:
FreeCommander.exe /N /NewIni=FreeCommanderTest.ini /NoPlugins /Lng=English
2. Show Details (CTRL F2)
3. Click 'Item Type' column (to sort by Item type)
4. Refresh (Shift Ctrl R) (At this step, the mismatch occurs and becomes manifest/visible)
Note that Item names are now sorted by type (good) but item Icons are still sorted by Name(bad).
- Result is that Item Icons no longer match to items properly.
- IE: A program shortcut may have a folder Icon, and visa-versa.
-- In my screen shot, note that UltraDefrag prog shortcut has an MS WORD Icon, a batch file (FC.BAT) has the UltraDefrag Icon, etc.
-- The resulting mix and mis-match will vary depending on what folder you look at.
Things I've tried to remedy on my own:
- Tools/Settings/"File/folder list"/Icons -- try all pulldown options: 'Extracted', 'Registered', 'Fixed' -- makes no diff.
Possible root cause: Code-wise -- perhaps item Icons and item Names are maintained in 2 separate arrays that are not synched?
Thanks so much. I like this program a lot, am promoting to friends, want to use and support for the long haul.
Item list Icons do not follow Item list Names
Re: Item list Icons do not follow Item list Names
I can replicate this on my win 10 using XE 723x64. It doesn't happen in "C:\Users\user\Desktop" folder, only when using "Desktop" root.
