In the freecommander FAQ, it shows a picture of changing the thumbnail size from 48 - 512, (https://freecommander.com/en/faq-thumbnails/), but in my FreeCommander it only go's to 256. How do I make my large thumbnails larger than 256? Thank you!
{I have "FreeCommander XE 2016 Build 715 32-bit public"}

Thanks, I'll give that a try. But, first, will I have to re-do all my settings, or does it keep all my settings when I update? (this will tell me how much time I need to allot for myself.)

All your settings will be preserved.

FC create backups also automatically, it's enabled by default, you can make sure it's enabled in Settings > General > Auto backup.
