FC XE650 / W7 SP1 (W updates)

multiple rename now produce "unmatched parenthesis" error in the "new name preview" column
tried unintall/reinstall twice with same result

portable version works just fine

Please give more detailed description of what and how you want to rename.
For example, you have several files with different names and you want to rename them to, for example, [n].[e] or something else.

Thks for quick answer

any number of files (starting with 2) and any renaming profile give same error even the basic [n].[e]
I'm using FC (a very very great program) for years now, I used the rename function quite a lot and last time it worked was probably only a few days ago (can't find exactly)

the version oginally installed (650) was loaded last january
so I suspect a side effect of something else
the question is : since that I'd only installed:
- windows defender definitions
- update for Avast
AND
- MS oneDrive new version (replacement for Skydrive)

I thought about one thing: as said, when reinstalling I started from a downloaded version saved locally!!!
so I just download the program and once more uninstall & reinstall and It finally works
don't understand

sorry for wasted your time
