Re: Quick filter stays when switching tabs
I tested it with default settings but its still applying the filter across tabs.
It only works as expected if I switch off "Keep filter on folder change"
but this is not usefull at all.

Re: Migrate from TC
No, thats a useless effort.
Whats the problem of customizing FC.
You can also simply add TCs lister and archiver plugins to FC.
Nevertheless FC can't beat TC (I run both of it).

Re: Quick filter stays when switching tabs
Confirmed, there is a problem.
Unselecting "Keep filter on tab change" isn't working.
The filter is still applied to any other tab whatever they have as path.

Re: Paths longer than 255 characters
Yes, FC itself does support file names longer than 259.
Tested with 7z archives with names longer than 300 chars on my system.

This works fine for me in the actual FC version.

Re: Difficulty comparing folder contents
Thanks Clicking on synchronise to do a comparison is scary, I wouldn’t know what that would do, it could have messed up my folders, I don’t want them synchronised. Seems an odd step Tom get to get to compare. I could upgrade, but like all such utility programs, I only use them once in a blue moon. ...

Re: Difficulty comparing folder contents
In the actual FC version its easy.
Left and right side in the starting dirs
Menu Folder / Synchronize
Fill out your criteria and hit the Compare button.
Btw. why don't you upgrade to a newer FC version ?

Re: Folder tabs keep changing
In general the folder tabs are not completedly under control of FC, its a standard Window control. This mean the order of them changes in a way which most users don't like but this can't be avoided. It happens in any program which uses Windows tab control. All is fine if only one row of tabs with a ...

Re: "Search file content" is not working properly
I am using the FreeCommander XE 2022 Build 861 32-bit public. What do you mean by converters? Converters are tools to extract content from non-text formats to text which is used by FC search. I earlier FC versions this was the only way to search in Office, PDF and other formats. Unfortunately I see...

Re: "Search file content" is not working properly
Are you using the x64 donor version ?
As far as I remember the searches will not work in the 32bit public version
without using converters.

Re: "Search file content" is not working properly
What do you mean with "Indexing issue" ? There is no indexing inside of FC and it doesn't use the Windows index. Search for content works fine even without any converter in the actual FC version. I tested *.* for Fie name: and various strings in Containing text: and found the strings searc...
