horst.epp,

thanks for the info. It's been a while since I've done registry hacks, so I'd appreciate it if you could also post the contents for an undo reg file for the above, should you have the time.

Re: 840 - regression (?) in multi-selected folders search

A clean install eliminated this issue. It was a tedious and time consuming task. I would only suggest it be used as a last resort. I spent 9+ hours getting it done. I will post insights in another thread. A note here, above I mentioned 'AppData\Roaming\FreeCommander' as we all know, settings are con...

Re: 840 - regression (?) in multi-selected folders search

Hey Dreamer, thanks for looking into this. Add wildcards... was activated the whole time. It makes no difference if this is activated or not. Just for info, I was searching for file types, i.e. .jpg and not for file names (or parts of names). also searching for file names or parts there of doesn't w...

Re: 845 - regression (?) in multi-selected folders search

I'm still suffering from this issue in latest version. Select a few folders and press Ctrl+F enter search term and start search Nothing is found. if I deactivate 'search in selected files/folders' files are found, but then the search begins at the root folder. As stated previously, using default set...

Peter,
may I suggest you right click on the folder and select "Open with FreeCommander"

Best Regards,

P.S. If a new instance of FreeCommander is not opened, change the settings under General appropriately.

Re: 844 - regression (?) in multi-selected folders search

I'm experiencing the same error as kino, Nothing is found when the option 'search in selected files/folders' is activated, and several folders are selected. It works when testing with default settings. Best regards, FreeCommander XE 2021 Build 844 64-bit donor Windows 10 Pro 64-bit Version 20H2 Buil...

Re: The Settings dialog should *NOT* be modal

Hey tbttfox,

I as well would appreciate it if the settings dialog was not modal. I hope Marek can make it work.

Thanks for bringing this up.

Re: Default settings for queue and operations

By default, for copy/move file/folder operations, "use Windows" is the default operation, why? I think it is simpler for beginners if they have first known operation dialogs. I have to agree with Marek. ... It's a proof, that I am (probably :) ) right. ... IMHO it is not a matter of who i...

Re: Copy folderstructure with file type selection

Mey mgroen, I have my FC setup to use FC-Method when copying, and also I have my FC setup NOT to copy with a dialog. The way I use FC, I normally select files in the one pane and copy them into a directory in the other pane. Without dialog it is faster. If I need to copy using the dialog, I have set...

Thanks for your reply Dreamer.

I understand now, you were pointing out the semantic difference between the actions and not the action in itself.

Re: searching on filename and/or file contents

Hey mgroen, I don't think it is necessary for Marek to implement an additional AND/OR operator. Looking at the image you posted, you have advanced options enabled Under File name: activate the checkbox <Regular expression> then put this into your file name field: ^(Bahnhof|.*) Tested this on your te...
