Topic: Is the FC INI content exactly the same in 396 and 405?

I wanted to know if there were any items that might be present in 405 that was not in 396 and vice-versa. For example, this item was added very late in the last set of betas I think: ChangeDirBackScrollToOldPos=1 Something like that may have been added to 396 and them moved or changed in 405. Or a &...

Is the FC INI content exactly the same in 396 and 405?

I think I may have asked the question poorly and wanted to try again.

I would like to know if the content of the FreeCommander.INI file is exactly the same in versions 396 and 405.

I hope that is clearer.

I would sincerely appreciate a reply.

Thank you,

BK

I appreciate the reply.

It's great that there will a clean, up to date final bug-fixed version of the existing codebase. I'm pretty darn fond of the thing, after all, and it will be nice to expand the user base via the official release.

Thanks much, and good luck on the new version.

I was thinking it would be good to just finalize at 405 if that is indeed the end of that codebase. No biggie I guess. Thanks for the reply though.

Was hoping to get the official word, just to be sure, but I'll start by configuring a fresh FC 405 install in a virtual machine and then compare those results.

Thanks

Anything different in the INI file between v396 and v405?

I have been using 396 for the longest time but on a fresh install I think I'd want to go with the latest version - v405. But before I did, I wanted to ask if there is anything different with the primary INI file between 396 and 405. My thought was to install 405 on the new drive and then just copy t...

Beta 405 - is it the latest and/or the last version?

16.03.2009 = Beta 405 That version seems to be the very latest available. Is that correct? Will there be a FINAL (non-Beta) of that release? Also, will there be any more updates to that code-base? Or is 405 going to be the very last update after all? IF SO - I would like to ask a favor. Could you pl...

I have a portable installation on my flashdrive. Therefore I tend to have various layouts configured to match different screen resolutions (obviously due to different sized screens on different PCs). Anyway here is a screen cap that I posted in the "share your ini" thread. http://www.imag...

It's a bit hidden, but it's possible - In Viewer menu > Options > Configure... disable option "Viewer is visible in taskbar". Thanks for the reply. I appreciate it. This change does limit the viewer to one occurrence, though you do lose the ability to quickly get back to that window via A...

Is there a way to FORCE File Viewer to ONLY have 1 instance?

I have been using Free Commander to go through a series of graphics and photo images and change folders during that process. I find that if I move to a new folder and press F3 to get the viewer, it actually starts a SECOND instance of that viewer instead of maintaining only one instance. Is there an...

Since you are still actually putting out beta updates for 2009.02, (402 & 403 betas just came out) do you think that this feature could slip in under the wire for the original FC codebase? I'm not sure how easy it would be to hold onto that variable, but if it's not too difficult code wise, I th...

Is 2009.02 - the last release of the original FreeCommander product?

If so, I hope you will open source it so others can pick up the banner from where you have carried it for so long.

Would be a nice gesture to the community, imo.

Thanks
