Your post provide not enough info.
Try to describe more exactly what you want to make in FC?
What is your used FC version, Windows version?

Folder - New (F7) works fine here.

If you have already preview of the .dwg files in Windows Explorer then try to add the extension for .dwg in the viewer configuration ( tab "general", field "as Windows preview" ).

- check the location of the freecomander.ini under Help - About
- close the program
- open the freecommander.ini with notepad.exe
- search the file for not existent paths and remove the paths
- save the file
- restart the program
