Re: Suggestion: add support for FLAC tags in "multirename"
I see that in 811/812 there was an improvement made to "multirename" to add an additional EXIF (camera lens) field to the set of available items to be used. I don't know if my previous request for adding support for FLAC tags (like MP3 tags) is being considered or worked on at the moment, ...

Suggestion: add support for FLAC tags in "multirename"
FLAC has it's own native tagging system which is identical to that of Vorbis. They are called alternately "FLAC tags" and "Vorbis comments". It is the only tagging system required and guaranteed to be supported by FLAC implementations. These FLAC tags ARE NOT ID3 TAGS USED FOR MP...

Re: 808 install abend if FC still open
Have opened a ticket with BitDefender. Turns out simply disabling their "Exploit Detection" (sub-feature of "Advanced Threat Defense") did not prevent the abend. Still occurred. But when completely disabling "Advanced Threat Defense", well now the abend disappeared and ...

Re: 808 install abend if FC still open
Hmmm... you're right. That file is from BitDefender. Never had this failure before 808. But I just retried the install of 807 and it failed exactly the same way as 808 did. I tried adding a BitDefender application exception for the FCXE installer, but that had no effect. So either I didn't do it cor...

808 install abend if FC still open
Previous installers would detect during the install script that FC XE was still open, and prompt for an OK to do an "automatic close" of the program first in order to then proceed with the install script. Looks like the 808 installer has been broken. It does not present the prompt when FC ...

787 Win10 Samsung Galaxy S7 MTP: strange behavior
Just noticed odd behavior trying to access the external storage card on my Samsung Galaxy S7 phone, connected via USB cable to my Win10 laptop running 1803. USB drivers to support Samsung are from 2016, so I don't know what might have caused the new odd behavior. I'm trying to access the JPG picture...

v787 Win10 - selected file color is dark blue??
I was working today and happened to notice that the background color of the selected file was "dark blue", making the file name itself virtually impossible to read in its black font. I don't recall changing this color and it always used to be a pale blue as I recall. So I did some research...

Re: recent through 767: initial lower-left pane too wide
Marek,
Many thanks for the build 768 fix for this issue. Indeed, the problem has now disappeared.
Upper/lower split and last-set pane locations are now retained across F10 toggles.
Case closed.

recent through 767: initial lower-left pane too wide
This problem is still a problem in latest 767, but it's been happening for a number of releases now. I operate in over/under split screen mode, with explorer tree on the left pane and folder contents on right pane, within each split. In other words in split screen mode I have 4 panes, and in non-spl...

Re: 747: bug or setup issue? - Favorites -> Edit, giant font
Have you high resolution monitor? Try to set and save the font size and item height for the favorites tree http://www.freecommander.com/fchelpxe/en/ColorFontIcon.html. You, sir, are a gentleman and a scholar. This was EXACTLY the problem setting I needed to change. I never touched this setting from...

747: bug or setup issue? - Favorites -> Edit, giant font
I went to remove a folder I'd added to Favorites. Right-click on that folder didn't present a popup menu with DELETE on it, so I instead proceeded through Favorites -> Favorites - edit..., which seemed reasonable. Well, the dialog then presented appeared to show my current Favorites list so that I c...

Re: Windows CHM help file shows only table of contents
Actually, this problem had seemed familiar and I was certain I'd run into it before, although I certainly didn't use Streams to resolve it. A bit more research shows that it has already been anticipated in the README for FCXE: Trouble with the help file ========================== When viewing your C...

Re: Windows CHM help file shows only table of contents
Indeed! It does appear that using the "streams -s -d *.*" from command-line (where I downloaded Streams from the English Microsoft SysInternals site ) did the trick. It seems reasonable that this should actually be the very delivered format of the CHM zip file, as it is a bit of an obscuri...
