You are right. Actually I downloaded the software and installed it as portable and it worked.
So I thought that the standard version is free... It seems it is not...

Re: Compare filenames without extension

Use beyond compare -> http://www.scootersoftware.com/download.php

In Session -> Session Settings:
- uncheck [ ] Compare file size and [ ] Compare timestamps
- check [ ] align filenames with different extension

In order to see only the differencies, click "Diffs" on the main pane.

Re: Compare filenames without extension

You can use advanced renamer which has a "List method" -> http://www.advancedrenamer.com/user_guide/method_list 1. in Freecommander select all the files with the correct name (let's say the wav files) and then copy their names with "Edit -> Copy name as text - shift+alt+ins" 2. I...

Re: Regression (?) -> Search : excluding subfolder path rege

The checkbox "Use for full subfolder path (otherwise only for subfolder name)" is no more.
Indeed, the option to search in full path should be put back. It might be useful.

Re: F4 editor and multiple files selected

A bit off-topic: I have just noticed that if I select a folder or more, and press F4 then all the files in that folder are opened with my "default" editor (default = for which I put "*" in editor's filter) If in that folder I have files with a extension for which I have definned ...

Re: MS Word and Edit New File (SHIFT-F4)

Is it possible to have the new created file encoded in UTF-8 and not ASCII (as it is now)?

Re: FreeCommander XE "not so obvious" settings

I have just noticed that in address bar middle clicking on a upper folder will open that folder in a new tab in the same pane :D

Re: opening multiple folders

In version 686, regex worked.
For example, in D: drive, for a list of subfolders found in subfolders of second level -> "D:\\[^\\]+\\[^\\]+$"

I use FreeCommander XE 2014 Build 682, Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit 1. there is a difference in gui when I launch the FC with default settings: http://s29.postimg.org/nf8nqn2pz/search0.jpg 2. sorting the result of the search according to column "Found in" is actually made after first ...

Re: Save sort per folder

I have never used this feature, but it should be possible.

Go to view -> column profiles -> profile settings. For each profile you define you can set a condition.

Re: opening multiple folders

I think it could be done using search (alt+F7) - if I have correctly understood. In "Location" tab you can set the level of subfolders up the where to do the search. In "Timestamp/Size/Attr" tab, you set the attribute only to "Directory". In "Filter" tab, in o...

Re: FreeCommander XE "not so obvious" settings

When I insert "NewFolderNameSuggestionList=A1|A2|A3;B1|B2|B3" in file "Freecommander.ini" after restart this line disapears from "[form]"
I use the portable version 681.
What's wrong?

The thread "Quick filter and folders" needs your attention. If it gets not your attention for another week, and independently of my posts being deleted or not in the meantime, I'll make sure people over the web will know that the developer of this buggy program likes it that way. I'm comp...
