Re: Multi-file renaming to fill in blank 'Date taken' field
dreamer, you are right. I didn't think about name collisions, so a counter should be added. But adding [c] at the end of the pattern will not solve the problem when [exif_taken] exists and generates name conflicts after renaming (more files will have the same 'exif_taken') Let's wait for @Adam_G fee...

I can't think now for something nicer. Try this:

Re: Favorite tools - rename by cmd
Indeed, %ActivSelName% seems to behave strangely... You can use "/k echo" in your parameter to see how your command is translated by FreeCommander. Anyway, this worked for me [with "separate for each selected item" checked, and "enclose each selected item with "" n...

Re: Packing multiple files with encryption - setting passwor
You might try to create a button in one of your toolbars and use powershell: In "program or folder" put "powershell" and below for "parameter": -command "& {$p = Read-Host -Prompt 'Insert your password';(Get-ItemProperty -Path (get-content '%ActivSelAsFileUtf8%...

Re: 731 crashing
In my case, 731 crashed when I tried to display a saved layout. 732 has just crashed when I tried to add a layout in "Layouts edit" (ctrl+g) 730 works fine. exception message value: TPJCustomWdwState.Create(): Only one window state component is permitted on a form: is already present in Fc...

Re: Default action fails for folder with diacritics
Indeed, there is a problem with the apps I use for opening my images (but I can't figure out what's wrong).
Thanks!

Default action fails for folder with diacritics
I checked versions 727 and 728 (but this might have been the case for previous verions). When a default action application is set in FC for a certain extension (e.g. *.jgp) and the active folder has diacritics in its name, pressing ENTER will trigger an error message. On the other hand, for the same...

Re: Button to Google search by file name
I came to this solution after a quick search on internet, so it may be stupid, but it worked on my computer. In "program or folder" put "cmd.exe", and in "parameter": /c for %i in ("%ActivItem%") do "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe"...

Re: highlighting in search is not working for xml files
I think (but I'm not sure) you have to go to Configure Viewer. Select a xml file then F3, then F9. In "Configure Viewer" -> "General" add ".xml" to "as Text", and remove ".xml" from "as Internet/Office". From now on, F3 will open xml files ...

Re: Search for empty folders & sub folders & delete them all
Alt+F7 (search file/folders). I think, using "<1;:D" in filename should work. But it doesn't... maybe I'm wrong on this...
Just use flat view for folders (CTRL+SHIFT+B), and see which folders have size 0 ( crtl+f2 then alt+f9 ).

Re: Please Help
Anyway, afh, it's a very good idea, just the problem is, if the names are different, or date is used as names (e.g. 2016-05-23 22-34-49). Actually, I see now that you don't need to filter the files. Just select all files in flat view, and since the new names will conflict, only 1 file per each fold...
