Re: How to make FC open your choice of folders on startup

Open the tabs for C: and D: as you want. Also the tabs you wish for the other panel. Right click on each tab (you want to stay permanently) and chose one of the "lock folder" entries. Go to Tools > Settings > Folder Tabs > Tab Management and activate "Close all not locked tabs when the program ends...

Re: New Folder Unexpected Result

I confirm the same results.

I specified '\A \B' and got the expected '\A\B' built, but also got "\A (2)".

Re: Expanded Directory Left Panel & Its Files & Subdirs in R

Not that I know of. There is a setting (Tools -> Settings-> View -> Tree -> Management tab -> "make selected node automatically visible") which you've probably got checked already, which remembers the NODE in the left pane (i.e. "tree") so that it is SELECTED and visible when you re-open the program...

Re: Quickview PDF

You might find this other thread in the general discussion of FCXE informative. Also, if you want more assistance you should probably describe the symptoms of your failures so far, and maybe provide some screenshots, so that we can understand what you've tried that is not working. Maybe you're just ...

Re: Change EXIF date from 'date modified' to 'date taken'?

The internal EXIF metadata should show "date/time original". I don't believe that would change if you rotated or otherwise edited the image. http://imageshack.com/a/img819/461/2ngt.jpg It is the Windows external file info where you see "date created", "date modified", and "date accessed". Is that wh...

Re: Quickview -- not working for PDFs

Now I'm puzzled. I decided to try using the program you specified as PDFXC.exe, which you further describe as "PDFX-CHANGE Viewer". Doing a search, I located what I believe is the program you're referring to... officially named "PDF-XChange Viewer" from Tracker Software . The web site describes TWO ...

Re: Quickview -- not working for PDFs

Just tried 665 same result -- Using VIEWERS. Have you given the free Adobe Reader XI a try (as I show), for the viewer? Also fail? Or does it work? What about any other Viewer programs, for other file types? Like JPG (see my ACDSee), DOC (see my WORD), etc.? Do those work for you, or is the whole Q...

Re: 665 Synchronize dialog always ignores empty directories

I first noticed this on ver. 650. Still in 665 FC igonres empty directories when syncrhonig folders (even if "Empty Folders" is checked). This is the only thing preventing me from completely switch to FreeCommander. I've never been concerned with using "compare/sync" capabilities of FC (neither the...

Re: Quickview -- not working for PDFs

First, you should download the most current public beta for FCXE. It was just posted earlier this week, build 665. Much fixed since the initial build 650. Also, I have no problem using Quickview panel specifying Adobe Reader 11 as the QuickView viewer program, and the Tools -> Settings -> Programs -...

Re: Public beta 665 - F5/F6 from MTP inserts incorrect file

Old problems that might be related http://forum.freecommander.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=5120 http://forum.freecommander.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=5055 I would agree with your assessment. Looks like these are all the same issue, dealing with improper handling of MTP-connected devices. So my problem repo...

Public beta 665 - F5/F6 from MTP inserts incorrect file name

I'm not sure where to post this bug report, so I'll do it here (since it shows up in the newest public beta 665) as it had also shown up in the previous donor beta 664 and I had previously reported it. Apparently the bug report either wasn't noticed, or it was too late to fix it in 665. But the prob...

Public beta 665 - F5/F6 from MTP inserts incorrect file name

This problem was previously reported on donor beta forum. It's not clear whether the problem should be re-reported here (since it is still occurring in newest public beta 665) or on donor beta. This relates to MTP source device (gotten to through the "0" drive, and then selecting "Computer"). Nevert...

Drag/Drop from one pane to another doesn't work?

Very strange. Is it just me?? I have my view set up with 4-panes (explorer tree on left side for folder list, expanded view on right for selected folder on left), i.e. split-screen upper/lower with 2-panes in each split. I'll refer to top two panes as 1 and 2, and bottom two panes as 3 and 4. I can ...

COPY/MOVE from MTP device puts incorrect filename in popup

Just discovered this capability of using the 0-drive (for "Desktop") and then selecting "Computer, for seeing MTP-connected devices using FCXE. This not only supports cameras, but also phones (e.g. my Samsung Galaxy S4) which also connect in MTP mode. Very much appreciated capability. However... I w...

Re: 653 - Copy/move don't work with camera

Check out this thread to see if it helps. http://www.forum.freecommander.com/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=5992 I can confirm that what Marek suggested on this other thread in fact DOES work!! In other words: FreeCommander XE: - select the 0 drive (Desktop) - select "Computer" - now you should see your tabl...
