Re: FC 889 exiftool file extensions setting not working

Thanks Marek, I could now enter an extension and select tags after selecting the file. I hope this instruction makes it to the user manual because it is not something you would easily come up with. Installed version 891 but still not working as expected. I have defined .jpg as extension and selected...

Re: FC 889 exiftool file extensions setting not working

Saw this in the release notes of version 890. This sounded promising... - Implemented: Viewer settings - extended ability to define the showed exif tags - now per file extension possible Installed version 891 and had another look. There is an option to enter file extensions and tag names. This is ju...

Re: 840 xml file error in quick viewer

Old thread but in the current 889 version the FreeCommander.fav.xml file is still saved (after a change to the favorites) by FC as an UTF-16 file. But the header line is simply <?xml version="1.0">. Thus leading to an error in the quick viewer. FC did the same when I used /newini. Can you ...

PS also tested this with the /newini option and this gave me the same results.

FC 889 exiftool file extensions setting not working

In the 'Settings -> View -> Viewer -> Viewer -> MetaData/Exif -> File Extensions' I have entered '.cr3' (without the quotes) but the exif tags are showing for ALL file types that I select. Started using exiftool because I wanted to see the exif information in the quick viewer and/or viewer. The exif...

Re: Quick filter to also work on other columns

I do also use mp3tag for my music collection. It works very well indeed. I also use exiftool to, every now and then, make a list of all photo tags and export to an excel file. I use this excel file to search for specific data like camera type or lens setting. It is just that I also use FreeCommander...

Quick filter to also work on other columns

I have quite a large photo collection. I organize my photo's in folders and add information to be able to select them in a list. I leave the file name unaltered (e.g. A41A0504.JPG) and use the title and subject tags of the JPG files to add information. This information I make visible by activating t...

Re: 860 64bit, Synchronize to SFTP website not possible

Thanks for clearing this up, at least I am not doing something wrong. So the issue is the file contents. So if the sync would only use file name and file size and maybe time stamp (but not compare file contents) would then a synchronize function be possible? For me this would be a perfect solution. ...

860 64bit, Synchronize to SFTP website not possible

When I try to use SYNCHRONIZE with a NAS folder in one pane and my SFTP website in the other I get an error: "Operation is not supported for the chosen folders" Not sure if this is a bug or that synchronize to SFTP is simply not supported. Could not find any information on this in the HELP...

Re: 844 php file not displayed in quick viewer

I tried this again with the 854 version of FC and this does not happen anymore.
So the php file is now showing as text in the pre-viewer and also with the php extension is in the 'as internet/office' group.

Re: 840 xml file error in quick viewer

Ok, if this is the way it should be working then ok. It was just confusing to me. Especially because it happened on an FC configuration file. Maybe caused by many new iterations of FC working with old ini files. Anyway thanks for the response.

844 php file not displayed in quick viewer

A lot of the times I have the quick viewer window open. Not sure if this is a bug but I noticed that for every file with a php extension is does not show a preview but instead a file download pop-up window opens. If I click on open it opens the file in a browser window. This is not what I want so I ...

840 xml file error in quick viewer

Sometimes the FC quick viewer gives an error for a file with an xml extension. I have discovered 2 situations where the errors occurs: 1 - the xml file is encoded as UTF-16 / UCS-2. So 2 byte per character. But encoding was not defined in the header, it simply states: "<?xml version="1.0&q...

Re: 840: m3u playlist file gives error in quick view panel

Checked with the default settings. It also shows 'Windows Media Player 9.0' The viewer still gives error for the m3u file. I can double click on an m3u file in FC and it will load playlist in winamp and start playing. When I double click on an mp3 file within FC then it starts playing in winamp. For...
