Yes -- the action of the use of wildcards in QuickFilter definitely changed somewhere between v2007.5 and v2009.02, with the need now to use that trailing "*". I suspect the filtering engine got completely rebuilt. In v2007.5 the filter worked incredibly slowly on folders with large numbers of files...
