Help file updates?
Hi, I was wondering, do the FC help files get regular updates as the program itself is updated? The downloads page always lists the build numbers and creation dates of the program installer packages, but no such info is provided for the help files. And I know that features are added or changed all t...

Copy/Move/Delete operations
Hi, In FreeCommander's internal Copy/Move/Delete dialogs, it would be very helpful to have a speed indicator, showing the current (average) transfer speed of the operation. It would also be good to have an estimated time remaining. I understand that coding these things to be [semi-]accurate can be t...

Re: File selection
Still not exactly what I had in mind, unfortunately. I just want the option to use "select with LEFT mouse button" in NC-mode, as opposed to the existing "select with right mouse button", to drag-and-select (or, really, drag-and-toggle-selection) multiple files. But thanks for re...

Multi Rename input focus
Hi, I have a request regarding the "Multi Rename" feature. When the Multi Rename dialog first opens, the input (typing) focus is always on the "Pattern/File name" text box. So if I were to start typing, it would replace the base filename of all the listed files with the text I ty...

File selection
Hi, I was wondering how feasible it would be to add an option to the NC-mode "sticky" file-selection, which would allow "sticky" selection of multiple items using the LEFT mouse button instead of the right? The way I see it working, single-clicking or click-and-dragging with the ...

Help files
Hi, When new versions of FCXE are released on the donors site, it's not clear whether the help files have also been updated. I never know whether I should bother downloading and installing the help file again. I was wondering, are the help files ALWAYS updated every time a new release comes out? If ...

Re: 720 - Quick filter box not correctly updating
I played around with it some more, and found inconsistency with how it works. I can replicate step 3 reliably, IF, after setting a Quick Filter in the initial tab, the Quick Filter box still has input focus (e.g. the typing cursor is in it, or the text is selected) when I double-click the empty area...

Re: FC hangs/freezes too often
I also get frequent freezes when working in FCXE, especially when any networked folders from my (all-too-slow) NAS box are loaded. It seems that when the NAS is slow to respond to a network request (e.g. loading the list of files in a folder), FCXE will just lock up and sit there, unresponsive, unti...

720 - Quick filter box not correctly updating
FreeCommander XE 64-bit build 720 donor. Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. When a Quick Filter is active in the currently-selected tab, and a new tab is created, the new tab is a copy of the previously-active one... same path, and the same filter is in effect... the list of files only contains filtered...

Re: Checkbox for select file
The "checkbox" selection method suggested by the OP would be a nice addition to FCXE. But I was wondering about the possibility of adding yet another file-selection method. I have a friend who refuses to really try FCXE because he can't make it work like his (admittedly archaic) current fi...

Re: 672 - Problem renaming files on network drives
More information: I find that when I get the "file can't be renamed because the file is open in FreeCommander" error, if I click "Retry" I then (sometimes) get "file can't be renamed because the file is open in another program". And if I click "Retry" on THAT,...

Re: Multitasking - while copying and moving (job queue)
+1
I'd also like to see a job queue for copy/move operations, fully integrated into FreeCommander.

Option: Auto-expand folder tree to show subfolders
Hi, I'd like to see an option added, where if a folder is double-clicked in the files/folders panel, not only will the tree panel expand to show the folder (as in Settings/Tree/Management/"Follow location changes in active panel"), but ALSO, if the folder has sub-folders, have the tree exp...

674 - crash after lots of background updates
Hi, Often, when I have FCXE open to a folder in which another process is making a lot of changes (adding files, deleting files, etc.), and leave it alone long enough, FCXE will crash. I'll have the folder open and start the other application that's making the changes, and can see FCXE dutifully refr...

672 - Problem renaming files on network drives
FCXE 6.72, 64-bit, on Windows 7 SP1 64-bit. Occasionally, when renaming files on a network drive (e.g. "\\somecomputer\folder\file"), I'll get an error saying that the file cannot be renamed because the file is open in a program. But the program that it says that the file is open in, is Fr...
